Five things that made my evenings more productive

Evenings are often appraised as a phase of the day when you opt to relax lying on your couch, watching your favorite show, snacking and to be generally speaking, unloading your day.

While it’s perfectly fine to spend your hard earned unoccupied hours like the way you would love the most, there are few other powerful ways that you should try out. I am certain that the ways described below would undoubtedly make you go head over heels whenever you approach the evening in your day.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said “Every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn.” We always emphasize on the importance of the mornings and customarily neglects the equally important time of the day — a beautiful evening.

How to be more productive in the evenings ?

Try out any of the activities mentioned here and observe a dramatic surge in your enthusiasm and productivity that is hidden somewhere low inside you right now. These tasks are flexible, time bound and fun. So what are we waiting for !

1. Hydrate yourself

Yes, that’s right. When we are engrossed with tight schedules and tiring calls the whole day, we neglect this very basic yet most essential need that our body is crying out for throughout the day. Drink water as much as you can. It would keep your stress and anxiety at bay along with hydrating yourself. You would feel the instant energy and calmness that this activity will bring. This will ensure your fervor is kicked in and you are renewed to dive into some deep, meaningful work.

2. Hobby

If one thing can be credited as the best activity to loosen up and to endure the exhaustion of the entire day it would most certainly be spending a few minutes on something you perfectly adore and can’t get enough of. Hobbies are the little bright sprinkles that bring exuberance and radiance to your lives. It is so important to reflect upon the recreational activities that attract your attention the most. It could be reading, writing, photography, scuba diving, coin collection, painting, doodling, skydiving, travelling, listening to music, baking, blogging, camping, running, bird watching etc. Find your hobby or if you already have one, keep adding more to your list to keep it interesting and worth trying every now and then.

3. Exercise

This is one of the extremely popular ways through which you can slide your day into night with a powerful sweating workout session. Choose something you enjoy like lifting weights, yoga, aerobics, dancing, swimming, biking, climbing stairs, group Zumba sessions or something simple could also do you a good favor like brisk walk, jogging or running in your neighborhood or a park nearby.

4. Reading

It could involve reading something related to your profession or areas of your interest. Reading is one of the most effective ways to push yourself a step closer to knowing the world in a better way. You can learn a new language, improve your vocabulary, learn in great detail about your finances and investment portfolios and the methods to improve them, learn tons about ways of self improvements and self advancements and so on. It is a thrilling activity once you realize there are so many books out there full of wisdom and fascination. If you are a bookworm or someone who wants to give a try to reading books as a regular activity should engage in a book club or could make weekly or monthly library rounds to be connected to people of your interest. This will soon become one of your favorite evening rituals.

5. Journaling

It was never before this decade that mental calmness and mental health was given any superiority over any other eye-catching physical personas. This is the era of mental healthcare along with mental wellbeing and Journaling has been a proven solution which acts as a substantial catalyst to promote mental welfare to great length. All you need to do is write down in a notepad how you feel about your day and evaluate it once in a week or a month to understand your emotions about the different facets of your life. This will help you overcome your fear, anxiety, stress and will also help improve your relation with your friends, family and co-workers. You can also do a variety of other journaling like making a to do list for the next day, your gratitude journal, your shopping journal, your vacation planning journal etc.

Evenings are the time to unwind and make room for taking care of yourself in the hustle and bustle of life.
